Mary's Book Review-Legacy Human by Susan K Quinn

Hello everyone and welcome to my second book review. I have decided to switch off this time and choose an independent author that I feel should be getting more attention. So, without further ado, I shall begin.

"The Legacy Human" is a science fiction thriller that's part of  the Singularity series. Singularity is about a young man who wants to save his mother. In order to do so he has to ascend. By ascending he would be giving up his human body and downloading his consciousness to an machine body. It is immortality and a ticket to living a better life. In order to gain ascension for his dying mother and himself, he has to win the Ascender's Olympics, which a brutal competition for artist in different areas to fight for the gold and the right to take their place with the Ascenders.
Susan Kaye Quinn has a way of writing science fiction with a dramatic flair that I love. ""The Legacy Human" is fast paced with vivid and realistic characters that follow through with their motivations. The writing style and tone is action packed, humorous and really fun to read. I enjoyed reading this because it felt like I was watching a good movie. However, "The Legacy Human" isn't all fun and games. I learned a lot from the book as well. I learned not to take my gifts for granted, and to value what it is that makes us human. Whether that be a soul, or mortality, it is what makes us unique and when we take that away life isn't what it should be.
When it comes to fun science fiction that will make you think, Susan Kaye Quinn is the author for you. She is a rocket scientist that has turned author and you can tell by the thoughtful way she has developed her future dystopian world and the technology within it. I think all science fiction lovers should definitely pick up the Singularity series from Amazon.com. The second book in the Series "The Duality Bridge" is also available.
